Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the lab-verifiable signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). Cannabinoid type is set largely by a single gene (the THC:CBD ratio); about 96% of commercial flower is Type I, THC-dominant. Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). About Mimosa x Blueberry Muffin
Mimosa x Blueberry Muffin es una variedad feminizada de dominancia indica creada por Awka Semillas ®, resultante del cruce de una fina selección de Mimosa de Symbiotic Genetics y Blueberry Muffin de Humboldt Seeds Company. En Awka Semillas ® nos propusimos crear una variedad que saliera de lo común, que entregara flores llenas de resina y que por sobre todo, tuviese un aroma y sabor único. Persiguiendo este objetivo, realizamos una fina selección de Mimosa de Symbiotic Genetics, con la esperanza de encontrar un fenotipo que fuese una verdadera naranja. Y asi fue, en la primera filial encontramos un fenotipo que tenia las caractrisiticas que andabamos buscando: cogollos con muchas glandulas de resina x cm2, buena ramificación lateral, flores muy compactas y ese exquisito sabor frutal cítrico que perseguiamos. Para complementarla, decidimos mezclarla con otra variedad de terpenos dulces, la Blueberry Muffin fenotipo #3 que seleccionamos el año 2019.
