Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the lab-verifiable signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). Cannabinoid type is set largely by a single gene (the THC:CBD ratio); about 96% of commercial flower is Type I, THC-dominant. Terpene profiles are sourced from Certificates of Analysis (COA) and roll out as Areto’s lab-verified data comes online.

Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 30%Sativa 70%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Mister Candy

Mister Candy grows vigorously and finishes tall with especially thick branches and stems. This plant can easily produce a main cola of at least 35 cm. At the beginning of flowering you will see a thick layer of resin flooding from the leaves and stems. As the plant matures, the flowers take on golden and purple colours. The buds put on weight quickly to form very compact and hard nugs. Let the powerful scent of Mister Candy sweeten your palate. 30% indica / 70% sativa Genotype: Lavender x Lavander Yield: 450-500 gr/m2 indoor, 550-700 gr/plant outdoor Flowering time: 55-65 days THC: 19-20% / CBD: 0.5% Effect: Strong & long lasting Taste: Mint, lavender Smell: Fresh, lavender and rosemary
