Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 70%Sativa 30%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Mona’s Magic

Next up on the block is the amazing kaleidoscope of the deepest of red flowers with this Mona’s Magic. I coined her name from watching a horror movie where a crazy witch lady had a secret stash of percy only red chronic lol! If you tried to pinch her plant, or god forbid blazed on her bag, you were struck down in the most catastrophic way!!! Now, Mona’s Magic may not strike you down in that sense, but she packs a wild punch that most red variants I’ve come across have yet to impress me with. Sure red weed is pretty to look at, and usually has fantastic flavor, but does it bang you between the eyes and set you into the couch? Mona’s magic does all 3 baby!!! All the phenos I had the pleasure to grow were very uniform and branched out nicely, filling up all of the space I gave them without a hitch. They even doubled to tripled in flower, taking up all the extras I could throw at them from light intensity to nutrients. As soon as they started to pack the flowers on tight, the reds came through nicely. But when the bulking season came, so did even more true and amazing deep hues of reds and maroons. She really is a sight for sore eyes in the garden and gave me no choice but to give her
