Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). Northern Lights Blvd. is another flagship cultivar from Empyrean Seeds. The genetic lineage is: NL5 （original cut） x （NL5 x NL2）. The NL5xNL2 seeds came from Jim Ortega （via JJ of topdawg） and are originally from Nevil （of the seed bank）. It was taken to the f3 generation and will become an IBL （in-bred line） next as we back cross it with some of our favorite keeper clones from the f1 generation
