Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 70%Sativa 30%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Northern Lights #13

Back in the 60s and 70s the number,13 had a underground representation of the cannabis plant. We wanted like all of our dubbed “13” strains want to make the classic, or perfect representation of the piece. Northern Lights, was always one of our favorite legacy strains. So we wanted to combine 2 of the best versions of this strain. The Northern Lights #5 was picked as the male, and the Sensi Seed’s Northern Lights (a NL #1) was picked as the female. The female has a very narrow profile that carried through over 70% of all the plants. It also carried over a heavy dominate flavor of juniper bush. Very piney, and vapory. Also from the female, the super heavy, and large resin glands that seem to ooze out of every surface. A super easy grow, and resistance to anything that plagues plants. This was in terms was a snap to grow. The best option we have for a beginner. This “can’t be killed” by just about anything. Drought, mites, PM, ultra high PPM’s, didn’t seem to dent them. The vigor is the one thing that is noticed at first. Grows about 150-200% after flower. They like to grow tall, but has a VERY narrow profile. Not much branching at all, that goes 6” outside of the main stalk. Truly a
