Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Northern Lights #2
I received Northern Lights #2 directly from Seattle Greg, who is the same gentleman who gave Northern Lights to Nevil back in 1984. The Northern Lights numbering #1 through #11, was from most Afghan, the #1, also called "Purest Indica", to the "Purest Indica"/Afghan crossed with more tropical/equatorial plants. The NL#2 is a broad leaflet Afghan variety that is quick flowering and covered in resin. The male flowers were also covered in trichomes and had the most resin that I have ever seen on male plants since I started growing in 1984
