Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 50%Sativa 50%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About NoVa Wineberry

A cross between Shaolin Gleaux from High Alpine Genetics and a hemp variety of AC/DC bred by Virginia Herbs. After crossing the original plants a selection of less than 10 plants was made from 120 before back crossing again to reinforce positive traits, structure, and weather resistance. It’s a beautiful strain that has a sweet nose of berries, honey suckle, musk and lemons. It thrives in the temperature fluctuations of Virginia both early in the spring, during drought, and turning purple resists damage from frost by stacking late in the flowering period
