Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the lab-verifiable signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). Cannabinoid type is set largely by a single gene (the THC:CBD ratio); about 96% of commercial flower is Type I, THC-dominant. Terpene profiles are sourced from Certificates of Analysis (COA) and roll out as Areto’s lab-verified data comes online.

Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 70%Sativa 30%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About OG Bubble Gum

OG Bubble Gum: Highly potent Indica buds, XXL-Yields, and astonishing aromas The skilful breeders of Zambeza Seeds did an excellent job on this one. Carefully hand-selecting the fruitiest, and best performing phenotypes of Bubble Gum was only the starting point to create this indica-dominant overachiever. Crossing these fruity phenotypes of Bubble Gum with the notorious and much loved west coast strain OG Kush, nicely executes the idea of creating a strain that is in many ways superior to varieties of well-established European seedbanks. The short flowering time of only 55 days allows a quick amortization of energy costs that medicinal and recreational hobby growers need to spend. When putting the very short flowering time in relation to the high indoor yields of up to 550-600g/m², it gets pretty clear that OG Bubble Gum can be considered a high-yielding variety. Even outdoors, harvests of up to 550-650g per plant are feasible in good conditions. This plant gets quiet big under the sun, usually between 150-200cm tall, packed with large buds all around. Indoor heights of 100-130cm can be expected. When it comes to flavors and overall aromatic performance, this strain really knows ho
