Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). Old School Hazy Jones is a hybrid produced from a Super Silver Haze from Mr. Nice Seeds that was pollinated by a reversed Casey Jones male plant (S1). The result is a cannabis variety that tastes just like Haze but with better yields in a shorter flowering time. This is such a high-yielding plant that even the inexperienced grower can get 5 ounces (approx. 145 gr.) per plant.
