History of Orange Blossom Special Orange Blossom Special (OBS for short) is a sativa-dominant hybrid created by Greenpoint Seeds in March 2023. Greenpoint Seeds is an American seed bank based in Colorado and founded in 2014 by a grower known only as Gu, whose experience with cannabis dates back to the early 2000s. Gu started his journey in the cannabis game in 2006 as a grower with a particular focus on living soil, as well as extensive pheno hunting. By 2009, Gu had developed a strong presence online, particularly on cannabis forums, and amassed a huge collection of seeds (thanks to a large investment in seed stock from other experienced breeders and banks). Gu also gained a reputation among growers for his detailed grow reports, as well as his keen eye for distinguishing different plants based on often subtle characteristics. In 2013, Gu relocated from his native state of Florida to Colorado, which, a year earlier, had voted to legalize cannabis by 2014. Following state legalization in Colorado, Gu officially founded the Greenpoint Seeds brand, making his seeds and stockpile of information available to growers of all levels.
