Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). I hunted the Panama Red male from a preservation pack bred by Coastal Seed Co. My goals with these P-ZA projects were to bring back / mix some older school flavors and effects with a newer school bag Appel / Esthetic and unique profile amongst the regularly Gelato bases varieties.
