Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 30%Sativa 70%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Pacific Pearl

MOTHER | TUXTLA, CHIAPAS ‘PURPLE PEARL’ x FATHER | KONA GOLD IBL Now this is a VERY special line… Mother was that insane looking Tuxtla, Chiapas feel we found, nicked named the Purple Pearl. This huge plant puts out short springs of purple pearls, a very old-school trait seen in vintage sativas. After growing her out twice, we pollenated her on her third journey. It basically was an experiment, that went super well. We grew out a bunch of plants and selected 4 really good looking females flower. The results were very interesting. Every plant put out pearls. Some were small bud sized clusters, while others grew into bigger, crazier looking bunches. Pictures say more than words take a look for yourself. While she might look gorgeous, she smells the complete opposite. This line STINKS bad. REAL BAD. I took a whiff of the darkest plant, just before chop and she made me gag. She smelt bit like fresh dog shit. Maybe we should rename the line ‘Purple Poo’?
