Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 100%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Paktia

Paktia comes from the districts of Aryub Zazai and Gul Ghundai in eastern Afghanistan - it is a pure indica that can be grown both indoors and outdoors. Paktia smells very rich, earthy and very hash-like, with notes of pine and citrus. Locally, this indica is grown in water-rich valleys, so it is used to receiving quite a lot of water, making it very resistant to mould. It is advisable not to water the plants for a relatively long time before the end, so that they can fully offer their rich odour spectrum
