Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). About Panjshir
Panjshir is a pure Indica from the province of Panjshir, which comes from the valleys east of the city of Kabul. This Indica is easy to grow and can be cultivated very well both indoors and outdoors. The plants smell very sweet and sour at the same time, with a mixture of roasted nuts, pistachios and even sweet candied dried fruit. Despite its original growing conditions, this genetics is also suitable for indoor cultivation, although it is more sensitive to weather conditions than most modern hybrids. In Panjshir, this strain has been used for many generations to produce very sweet hashish, a traditional way of utilising cannabis plants east of Kabul
