Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). The dominant terpenes below are aggregated from community and lab reporting; aroma and effect associations are preliminary and not medical claims. Lab-verified COA profiles roll out as Areto’s data comes online.

Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 30%Sativa 70%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Pineapple Sorbet

This Sativa dominant cultivar is a cross between The Rose Especial (Zkittlez x Long Valley Royal Kush) and the In The Pines clone (Pineapple Thai x Master Kush). Pineapple Sorbet, a bushy, well-branched hybrid Pineapple Sorbet has a moderate stretching very easy to control, developing several strong secondary branches which makes it ideal for cultivation in SCROG, where it offers excellent results. Indoors, the harvest is ready in just 65 days, obtaining a really satisfactory yield. Outdoors, Pineapple Sorbet is harvested at the end of September, and growers are advised to support and stake the branches to redistribute the weight of the flowers. The flowers quickly become very sticky during bloom, adopting the appearance of being covered with a thick layer of oil. They need to be handled delicately. This variety adapts well to different extraction methods and is a delight for fans of concentrates both for the quantity of resin produced and terpenic qualities.
