Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 50%Sativa 50%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Pineapple Thai x Black Lime Reserve

Heirloom Pineapple Thai F2 x Black Lime Reserve Lime Green, Thin Blade Leaves Electric! Fabuloso Lemon Cleaner The specific cut selected for this hybrid reminded me of my all time favorite strain ‘In The Pines’ from Derek out of Boonville, CA. Every year he would grow it to perfection with the most exquisite cure and trim and enter into The Emerald Cup competition. Each year, as soon as you opened the jar, one knew it was Dereks ‘In The Pines’. HPT F2 Reproduction from Coalition Seed Co. Black Lime Reserve = Long Valley Heirloom Black Lime x Chemdawg Special Reserve Male: I pulled out an Original OG Pack #000076 of 2013 Black Lime Reserve by Aficionado Seeds from the freezer and, to my luck, was able to successfully germinate all the seeds. As the BLR continued to veg it reminded me of when I first grew these full term outdoors back in 2014 and yielded over seven pounds per plant - so much vigor. This was reflected once again in the selection of a male to do a seed increase and breed with a number of females that would compliment each other. Call it a throw back to the earlier days of The Emerald Cup Competition and one of those ‘had to be there moments’ at the judges table!!! Note
