Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). The dominant terpenes below are aggregated from community and lab reporting; aroma and effect associations are preliminary and not medical claims. Lab-verified COA profiles roll out as Areto’s data comes online.

Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 50%Sativa 50%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Pineapple

Pineapple is named after the fresh, tropical pineapple taste and aroma on this strong USA variety. The genetics originally came from a single phenotype of Ed Rosenthal’s Super Bud. It was chosen for the stand-out THC levels, mainly indica traits and the fruit-cocktail flavor palette. Many generations of inbreeding stabilised the sturdy structure and amplified the sweet tropical pineapple presence. There is also a scent of diesel in the buds, which can take on the shape of a miniature pineapple fruit. Bloom time is around 8-9 weeks. The effect is strong, potent and fast acting with an uplifted happy feel and an anti-anxiety effect
