Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica 70%Sativa 30%
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Purple Rhodi
This was one of the most anticipated of the Ortega lines we created. While only around 20% of the offspring showed color, all of them came through with a nice rotten grape funk we were aiming for. Along with the nice grapey floral flavors that mother passed along, once again the male passed on his substantial yield and rotten fruit funk. The Purple Rhodi will double in height after put into flower. They display great coats of resin while in flower, and typically hold their own weight not needing much staking or extra care. Easy to grow plant that does just as well outdoors as they do indoors. Genetics: Purple Elephant x Ortega
Indica dominant hybrid
Average Flower time: 8-9 weeks
Average Yield: Medium Heavy
