Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). About Purple Sunrise
Rare sativa leaning pheno of Jungle Boys Purple Sunset. Unlike her heavy body focused indica leaning sisters, this pheno looks and smells like Purple Sunset, but the effects are almost exactly opposite. The TK parent really shows up after a bit, and though you will be chatting and mind racing still, you may be sitting down doing it after 30 minutes.
If you know Jungle Boys Purple Sunset, you would look at this, smell it and taste it and think this was Purple Sunset. For about 90 seconds. Then you would realize this is something completely different, definitely NOT Purple Sunset. Thus she got her own name.
She was discovered in a Jungle Boys seed pack in November 2020, shortly after JB released flower then seed packs.
She is an extra vigorous grower, with only a little OG fussiness, mostly well behaved. She loves ridiculously high VPD in stretch and all through flower, having clocked leaf temps 14.6 degrees below ambient when pushed to crazy numbers, like 80 degrees F and 15% humidity.
She is also a very high yielder, consistently coming in a 4 ounces per square foot. She grows exceptionally dense buds that impress.
