Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 70%Sativa 30%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Querkle BX

This backcross locks in the iconic traits that made Querkle a fan favorite while layering rich funk, skunky earth, and cheese notes from Cheesequake. The Cheesequake phenos we selected are super compact, heavyhitting indica-style plants with dense, Danish grape-scented buds — but they aren’t known for massive yields. By crossing them back to our Querkle male, we boosted size, resin production, and bag appeal while preserving the unique flavor signatures that made Cheesequake unforgettable. This is a true recombination of two iconic strains — bigger, louder, with tons of old-school flavor. Lineage: Cheesequake × Querkle Flowering Time: 8–9 Weeks Indica/Sativa: Indica-Dominant Hybrid Height: medium-height, bushy plants Phenotypes: dense, rock-hard buds that show off deep purple hues late in flower High Type: Mood elevation and relaxation Yield: Medium to Heavy Taste: Notes of funky grapes, sweet berries, and a subtle cheese twist. Best Way to Grow: Stocky plants, train, and defoliate as needed; don’t wait until flowering!
