Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the lab-verifiable signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). Cannabinoid type is set largely by a single gene (the THC:CBD ratio); about 96% of commercial flower is Type I, THC-dominant. Terpene profiles are sourced from Certificates of Analysis (COA) and roll out as Areto’s lab-verified data comes online.

Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 50%Sativa 50%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Raspberry Beret

For all those that have been hunting for heavy raspberry terps, your search is over. Mother is Sangria #4 from Aficionado French Connection (thanks again for all your support on this project guys) Father was a very dank male of Raspberry Breath from Thug Pug. Smells of raspberry candy, with subtle lemon and sweetgrass undertones. Very dense rock hard nugs, but will require a bit of support the last few weeks of flower. Previously known to our testers as B028 this beauty is now here to stay. This was the top rated child of an experiment using the same father but 3 different phenos of Sangria, and this baby was the clear winner. Regular Seeds
