Terpene profile most dominant first
Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). The dominant terpenes below are aggregated from community and lab reporting; aroma and effect associations are preliminary and not medical claims. Lab-verified COA profiles roll out as Areto’s data comes online.
Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Rebel Cookies
LINEAGE: GSC
We started making seeds and breeding with the original Girl Scout clone in 2011, before there were names and different cuts like “Fo-rum”, “Thin Mint”, etc. Very few people in Humboldt had the cut at the time. In the Bay Area it was mostly smaller indoor grows. As it spread to the North Bay and up into the Triangle I was one of the first commercial outdoor growers to test it out at a decent scale. I gave the cut to Kevin Jodrey when Wonderland Nursery was at its prime. He had it available for the 2012 season, which is when GSC blew up in Humboldt for a few years, but from the 2011 outdoor season I was the only grower I knew who had hundreds of pounds of it.
We were all impressed by how well a low-yielding indoor cut from the Bay yielded outdoors in Humboldt. The quality was awesome and we were blown away by the density of the nugs and how small a pound looked.
The male selections in 2011 and 2012 of the original hybrids we made are a long story, so I’ll focus on what’s been accomplished. Admittedly not our best name, but at this point this seed line may be our best work and most consistent quality in every plant.
