THC-dominant

Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the lab-verifiable signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). Cannabinoid type is set largely by a single gene (the THC:CBD ratio); about 96% of commercial flower is Type I, THC-dominant. Terpene profiles are sourced from Certificates of Analysis (COA) and roll out as Areto’s lab-verified data comes online.

Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 30%Sativa 70%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About S.A.S

Power Plant is an African sativa from a genetic line that has never been hybridised but has been improved through back crossing which makes her very stable. Easy to manage, she grows to a good height but doesn't branch out as much as some pure sativas, making her ideal for all types of growing systems. Quite a demanding plant that will need a good feed even during the vegetative stage but this will be rewarded with great yields. Takes a bit longer to react to the change in photoperiod than hybrids but flowers very rapidly. The aromatic floral resin with hints of sandalwood causes an energising effect ideal for the treatment of pain. Some medicinal users may find this too psychedelic at the start though the relaxing effect soon becomes evident. Lineage: African sativa Harvest Time (Indoors): between 60 and 70 days Yield: up 50g/ plant indoor/ Up to 600g/ plant outside Taste: floral; sandalwood/ hash Effect: euphoric/ relaxing; analgesic THC: 21%
