About this release

Samangan Province from Tonglen Song is an inbred and stabilized progeny of the heirloom Rustam Kush original stock from Afghan Selection - the parent stock was originally marketed as both Baharak and Samangan, but Tonglen Song was able to confirm from them it is Samangan Province heirloom. Samangan Mountains are located in Samangan Province, Afghanistan, just north of the Hindu Kush Mountain Range. He has brought the selection to f3, eliminating 99% of intersex tendencies, while stabilizing beautiful high yielding resin coated plants that produce massive amounts of oil. The stock is currently under selection being further tested and stabilized for f4 production. A beautiful set of aromas can be experienced specifically including fermented bloomy rind cheese, gas, and sometimes tropical and stone fruit. Effects are grounding, non-energetic, and narcotic. This selection is very strong. These plants take 8-10 weeks in bloom. After some further research, Tonglen Song found the name was based on the hero Rostam from the 11th century Iranian mythological epic "Shahnameh", in which Rostam travels to Samangan to find his horse, Rakhsh (Persian for lightening), who was stolen by a pack of bandits while he napped. He ends up making a deal with the princess of Samangan, who is overcome by his heroic ambience, and sleeps with her (to give her a son) in exchange for her promise that his horse will be found and returned by morning. I listened to the amazing dramatized version of the book on audible and highly recommend it
