Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). The dominant terpenes below are aggregated from community and lab reporting; aroma and effect associations are preliminary and not medical claims. Lab-verified COA profiles roll out as Areto’s data comes online.

Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 70%Sativa 30%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Sapphire OG

Sapphire OG by Humboldt Seed Organization is a feminized cannabis seed that has its origins in the combination of an exceptional version of OG (Florida cut) and an OG (Fc) x OG (Fc)/Afghan cross. It is a rather big, sturdy and hardy marijuana plant with thin elongated leaves that yields plenty of large buds coated in resin. If exposed to optimal conditions, it can double its size. It is well suited to growing indoors although its size must be controlled. However, it unfolds its potential outdoors, growing so tall that the use of tutors will be highly necessary. In short, a really special OG Kush that is perfect for lovers of high-quality OG-derived genetics. The flavour and aroma of Sapphire OG are pronounced, with hints of pine, oil, chocolate, fresh flowers and lemon. It provides a potent and balanced effect of long duration, both physical and cerebral. 85% Indica/15% Sativa Indoor flowering period: 57-63 days Indoor yield: 400-600 g/m2 Outdoor harvest: late September / early October Outdoor yield: 1-4 Kg/plant Outdoor height: 3-4 m THC: 18-24%
