Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). Flowering Time: Late August/Early September Satura Sativa is an early flowering variety that grows wild in parts of the B.C. Coast and boasts a distinguishable sweet and fruity taste. An advantage of the Satura hybrid is that approx. 50% of the seedlings will begin flowering at the 5-7th internode, regardless of the photo period (finishes in early September)
