When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The team at Lost River Seeds used the clone only Golden Goat female and crossed it with an Afghan Male which was then bred out to the F4 generation. The male selected from the F4 line passed on the structure, flavor, and aroma of the Golden Goat with no Afghan traits. Sexual Chocolate was created by using a female Chocolate Eruption from Lost River Seeds and pollinating it with the Golden Goat male
