Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the lab-verifiable signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). Cannabinoid type is set largely by a single gene (the THC:CBD ratio); about 96% of commercial flower is Type I, THC-dominant. Terpene profiles are sourced from Certificates of Analysis (COA) and roll out as Areto’s lab-verified data comes online.

Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 30%Sativa 70%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Shanti

Shanti refers to a state of being mentally and spiritually at peace. She has a unique character, different from all our other strains. She is powerful, but she won't lock you on the sofa. She will rather deliver an unique state of mind, happy and sometimes euphoric. She's perfect for meditation, and she has been successfully used as medicine. The smell and aroma remind a delicate flower bouquet, with notes of strawberry. The plant likes to grow with large branches, and is a good choice for a sea of green. Our overall rating: excellent. 75% Sativa / 25% Indica Flowering time: 9 weeks Yield: 450 gr per sq. mt indoor; up to 350 gr per plant outdoor THC: 15%
