Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 50%Sativa 50%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Silverback

Silverback is a great pairing from Central Africa that grows strong and tall with long internode spacing. This variety has a lot of stretch and can grow quite large given the right conditions. Dark thin leaves and red stems are a common trait. The buds are large and fluffy with sweet and chocolatey aromas. Accustomed to jungle type conditions, it is very resistant to fungus and pests. The effects are strong and soaring with no ceiling. It will keep you up and motivated for enjoying everything that Life has to offer. This variety is a very long flowering tropical sativa type and is not for beginners. It is best grown outdoors but can be grown indoors with proper training and 14 hours of dark right from the start. As with most landrace varieties, there is a possibility of intersex traits that can express themselves with even the slightest amount of stress. Best grown in an environment similar to their native origin
