Chemotype
Type I
THC-dominant
Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the lab-verifiable signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). Cannabinoid type is set largely by a single gene (the THC:CBD ratio); about 96% of commercial flower is Type I, THC-dominant. Terpene profiles are sourced from Certificates of Analysis (COA) and roll out as Areto’s lab-verified data comes online.
Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Somanta
Somanta was born after receiving numerous petitions from our customers who tested our prototypes before they were commertialised. They would like to remenis the characteristical aromas and Tropical taste that leaves your mouth watering. Somanta was developed from Somango from Soma Seeds and the well known Critical +. With this espectacular plant we get the fruitiest, sweetest buds from this catalogue. Somanta is an ideal plat to take clones from, it grows long sturdy lateral branches, that when in full flower, they hold the extreme weight of the large buds perfectly. When flowering, and especially when grown outdoors, the leaves turn purple and the buds finish being covered by gigantic resin glands. It is an ideal plant to cultivate in SOG.
