Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). About Sour Apple x Purple Punch
On the one hand Sour Apple, a cross between Sour Diesel x Pure Kush resulting in an Indica genetics of powerful hybrid effect. It offers an intense and sour flavour with apple and lemon undertones. It is a medium-tall plant with an abundant and vigorous secondary ramification. On the other hand Purple Punch, a mythical Indica variety of high production with fleshy and dense flowers. In particular the grape-flavoured phenotype which it passes on to its progeny. Sour Apple x Purple Punch grows to a medium size of up to 1m indoors, with a short internodal distance that makes it ideal for both SOG and SCROG cultivation. It delivers a bumper yield, ready to harvest in about 56-63 days from change to flowering. Grown outdoors it is a balanced plant, with medium height and internodal distance, yet delivers a very good yield distributed throughout the vigorous secondary branches.
