Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). The dominant terpenes below are aggregated from community and lab reporting; aroma and effect associations are preliminary and not medical claims. Lab-verified COA profiles roll out as Areto’s data comes online.

Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 50%Sativa 50%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Sour Bubba

This is a cross of the East Coast Sour Diesel (the one I shared with Devils Harvest Krew in ’03) and a reversed Pre-98 Bubba Kush. Most crosses I’ve made with the Bubba are usually Bubba dominant – much less so with this particular cross. You’ll get a variety pack of phenos from these with varying degrees of diesel/gas. These are two of my all-time favorite strains and the cross does NOT disappoint! Expect above average yields of top-shelf buds that take approximately 70 days to flower for maximum flavor and effect
