Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). The dominant terpenes below are aggregated from community and lab reporting; aroma and effect associations are preliminary and not medical claims. Lab-verified COA profiles roll out as Areto’s data comes online.

Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 50%Sativa 50%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Sour Glue

Sour Glue, a 100% US hybrid This 50/50 Indica Sativa hybrid is a cross between two North American cannabic scene titans. On the one hand, Gorilla Glue #4 is a highly appreciated variety characterised for its dense flowers flooded with trichomes, and a complex terpene profile combining sweet and floral notes, accompanied by a powerful and long-lasting effect thanks to its high THC content. This champion of resin extractions meets here Sour Diesel, a more Sativa lineage appreciated for its strong fuel aroma and its first-class high effect. Medical Seeds Sour Glue cultivation Sour Glue has a continuing growth which vigour needs to be controlled, especially during the first few weeks of flowering when it stretches energetically and can triple or quadruple its size. Medical Seeds advises when Sour Glue is gardened indoors, not to provide more than 2 to 3 weeks of vegetative growth in order to limit their final height. Optimization techniques such as pruning, trellising, super-cropping or SCROG cultivation are also good options to control the final size of our plants. The harvest will be ready after about 8-9 weeks of flowering, with a yield of up to 450-500g per m2 in indoor cultivation
