Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). The dominant terpenes below are aggregated from community and lab reporting; aroma and effect associations are preliminary and not medical claims. Lab-verified COA profiles roll out as Areto’s data comes online.

Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 30%Sativa 70%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Sour Patch Kiss

This strain has it all – good yield, insane amounts of gooey stickiness and a delicious, loud smell of sour candy. Every grower that we have shown the dried flowers to immediately said they had to have the strain ASAP. Our goal with this strain was to create bag appeal that was second to none that gave an experience to match. The parents we chose for this are Kimbo Kush and Sour Kush. When I first tried Kimbo Kush, I knew I wanted to work on a project with Kimbo as one of the ingredients. Not only was it incredibly frosty and potent with an amazing smell/taste of Blackberry scones, it created a very distinguishable euphoric, indica-dominant high. I chose Sour Kush as the other parent because it was a strain that would totally stink up a room with a sour funk, was a great yielder and super frosty/potent. Type: 60/40 Sativa Dom Flower Time: 8-9 weeks Yield: Heavy Potency: Extremely Potent Genetics: Kimbo Kush x Sour Kush
