Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). About Sour Rosette
Sour Rosette is a cross I made between a Waffle House Sour V1 (bred by: Waffle House Genetics) male I was gifted and my Rosetta ‘78 #2 (bred by: Brother’s Grimm) “pinesol” pheno which I found while hunting through different Rosetta ‘78 phenos for my strain Sun Baked ‘78. Even though this Rosetta ‘78 phenotype didnt make the cut for the Sun Baked ‘78, the sharp pinesol nose of pheno #2 just captivated me and i knew i needed to breed this with some classic Sour D. The Waffle House Sour V1 male was from a buddy of mine who sex tested a pack to grow out for flower. A couple turned out to be male and the rest is history. Waffle House Sour V1 is one of my favorite Sour Diesel crosses of all time. Every pheno has a nose like no other. Sour, Gassy, with Rich Earthy undertones, everything you can as for in a Sour Diesel in today’s day and age. Waffle House Genetic’s rendition of this legendary strain beats anything I've grown that was “sour diesel.”
Needless to say, Sour Rosette is unlike any modern strain on the market today. The nose/flavors are a mix of sour lemon cleaner with a backbone of really nasty diesel terps to bring it all together. Some phenos tend to lean more on the Sour Dies
