Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). About Strawmelon
The plant used as a female in this cross comes from an own selection of Strawberry and Cream F2 from Exotic Genetix, in which the objective was to obtain a plant with marked notes of strawberries in its aroma and flavor. Finally, #24 was chosen by The Grateful Seeds, a specimen with this curious flavor that also had a large amount of resin and rock-hard buds. On the other hand, the male parent （reversed female） used is Fresca Melon, a magnificent Sativa-dominant variety that comes from the Dying Breed Seeds collection and that The Grateful Seeds have used for other hybrids such as Papaya Cooler.
