Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

Grow Type: Greenhouse, outdoors, indoors A special tropical Sativa from the Nile River region of southern Sudan. Compact semi-dwarf architecture makes it well-suited to work indoors. Powerful complex aromas such as pungent aniseed, citrus-peel, and spices are reminiscent of our Sinai accessions. Similarly, two main structural variants are exhibited. Possibly the two accessions are related East African groups. Flowering begins as soon as plants are sufficiently mature, roughly 4 to 5 weeks from seed. This is a long-flowering strain, as can be expected from an equatorial landrace. A customer reports plants are “very fast and powering along, smells of lemon, citrus, pineapple and other aromas. Covered in resin.” Seeds are healthy, exhibiting 100% viability, and seedlings are vigorous
