Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). About Sweet Sputty
One of our larger varieties, initially created for robust outdoor growth but also performs very well indoors with a low vegetative time required. The Spoetnik #1 from Paradise Seeds is a bland tasting cultivar but is finished outside in Canada before October begins, exhibiting naturally bushy growth and lavender tones. This plant seems to go directly into making calyxs as opposed to growing a lot of hairs in the flower. The Spoetnik #1 cut used was provided by a medical cannabis company in Canada to patients after they selected it from hundreds of seeds and utilizing THC and CBD testing to choose the cut. This cultivar is know to be highly pest and disease resistant, hence its popularity even with the lack of flavour. We pollinated this with the reversed Island Sweet Skunk, which tastes delicious and performs incredibly outdoors as well. The result is a perfectly balanced hybrid, with the Spoetnik being 90% Indica and the Island Sweet Skunk being a true sativa
