Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica 70%Sativa 30%
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About The Evelyne
The Evelyne (tested under the working name Northern Buckeye) is a melding of two Melvanetics anchor lines, Buckeye Purple and 1989 NL5. As an F1 cross look for phenos that range from the classic NL5 of the mother all the way to the Buckeye Purple, with gorgeous pinks and purples with lots of frost in the phenos in between. Smells and flavors have ranged from the deep wine of the Buckeye Purple to the rotted fruit funk of the 89 NL5. Mostly indica, look for an 8-9 week finish indoors, a 2nd week of September finish outdoor for cooler climates when out by mid-June
