Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica 50%Sativa 50%
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About The Kind
Tempest Grove wanted to bridge the gap between the raunchy Chem flavors of the East Coast and the connoisseur bag appeal of the West Coast with the creation of one of the staples in our gardens, The Kind.
The kind was a cross between our favorite cut of Crescendo ([Chem d x I-95] x Headband) hunted out in Oklahoma in 2018 crossed to a killer Terpee Slurpee (GMO x Orange Zkittlez) male that had beautiful colors, good resin and a raunchy orange peel/halitosis nose.
The outcome was a killer hybrid that brings added resin content and beautiful purple colors to the disgusting Chem nose of our keeper Crescendo, and the Terpee Slurpee only complimented those aromas.
Plants are strong and vigorous, branching out into very vigorous bushes, but with good upward growth.
In flower, the plants have a medium stretch with tighter internode lengths and stack into beautiful colas. Some phenotypes can be done in 9 weeks, but most we will often push for 10-11 weeks to ensure the highest quality from our harvests.
With proper feedings this plant is incredibly productive, but does not stray from quality or potency. Flowers are often a a mixture of violet and green with an extremely thick blanket of cha
