Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). About The Underchunk
The Underchunk is an indica dominant hybrid created high up a ridge in La Honda, California in 2013. Its genetics consist of Tahoe Thunder （ATF x Tahoe OG） and Deep Chunk （Tom Hill）. Plants show medium short internodes, with strong branches and dark green Afghani leaves. Buds were chunky, full of trichomes and smelled of piney, lemoney musk. The male Deep Chunk used in this cross was healthy and vigorous, turning slightly purple near the end of flowering. The Tahoe Thunder female was exceptionally vigorous and had a pine/lemon aroma
