Chemotype genetics-true
Chemotype
Type I
THC-dominant
Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the lab-verifiable signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). Cannabinoid type is set largely by a single gene (the THC:CBD ratio); about 96% of commercial flower is Type I, THC-dominant. Terpene profiles are sourced from Certificates of Analysis (COA) and roll out as Areto’s lab-verified data comes online.
Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Toro Blanco
Toro Blanco from Paisa Grow Seeds is a fast and productive feminised cross of two of the top-selling varieties from the last 15 years: Critical Mass and White Widow. A 60/40 sativa-indica hybrid suitable for gardeners of all levels of experience, Toro Blanco is fast-flowering, productive, simple to grow and easy to manicure. Without the need for excessive nutrient feeding, it grows with the vigour of a sativa but stays compact and flowers quickly like an indica. It’s an incredibly fragrant plant that releases a powerful aroma even in the growth phase, and with it’s irresistibly sweet odour reaching truly intense levels during flowering, it definitely calls for carbon filters. It finishes flowering in just 56 days, producing an abundant harvest of fat, fleshy and resin-coated buds. It’s pungent aroma is citric and earthy, faithful to the ancestors of Toro Blanco.
