Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica 50%Sativa 50%
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Turtle Island
Turtle Island was created from another phenotype of our Paradise Island that we felt was remarkable and rewarding to grow and to inhale. We crossed her with our Freedom Express male to bring the THC up even higher and bring measurable CBD into some phenotypes. Not a small plant, but mom’s branching was more like the Grape Grandparent than that of the Chocolope, just faster growing. Labs and high res photos posted soon!
