Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 30%Sativa 70%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Urban Poison

Nirvana Urban Poison is a new indoor-suitable version of our famous South African marijuana strain Durban Poison. We took the Durban Poison seeds and crossed them with Northern Light, after which we back-crossed the resulting marijuana hybrid with its parent again. Eventually, we came up with this Sativa-dominant variety which retains an aroma of juniper berries and a trippy high. Structure and potency wise, this plant is comparable to modern indoor production strains. Plant type Predominantly Sativa Cultivation Indoor as well as Outdoor Average Yield 400 - 500 g/m² in SOG Flowering Period 9 - 11 weeks
