Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the lab-verifiable signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). Cannabinoid type is set largely by a single gene (the THC:CBD ratio); about 96% of commercial flower is Type I, THC-dominant. Terpene profiles are sourced from Certificates of Analysis (COA) and roll out as Areto’s lab-verified data comes online.

Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 100%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Uzbekistan Hash Plant

Uzbekistan Hashplant is a traditionally cultivated indigenous variety that comes from the mountains of Uzbekistan, where they are cultivated by locals for hash and ganja. The first efforts were focused on eliminating any trace of hermaphroditism and sativa influence in the breeding line, obtaining very homogeneous plants with an indica structure, differentiating themselves from other landrace lines from the same area. This landrace will provide us with abundant harvests of the highest quality after nine weeks of flowering with the possibility of acquiring purple colors if we are in low temperature conditions. As a traditional cultivation “hashplant” that it is, it is a good option to use it for extractions, concentrates or breeding projects. Note: Variety suitable for breeding projects / Indicated for the production or extraction of concentrates. Genetics: Landrace Uzbekistan IBL Format: regular Type: pure variety Structure: Indica / bushy Aroma: hash (some phenotypes are extremely sweet) Indoor flowering: 8 to 9 weeks Flowering outdoor: not tested Yield: High THC: 18% - 21% Indica / Sativa: Indica
