Terpene profile most dominant first
Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). The dominant terpenes below are aggregated from community and lab reporting; aroma and effect associations are preliminary and not medical claims. Lab-verified COA profiles roll out as Areto’s data comes online.
Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Velvet Krush
Indica Dominant
Flower Cycle: 56-65 days
Yield: Heavy A mostly indica hybrid with minor (10% or so) phenotypic sativa variation. The majority show vigorous indica growth (shorter, wider) producing hardy plants with thick, hollow stems and medium stretch that sport dense, rounder buds, while a few prefer the elongated, ‘spear-shaped’ bud structure (the 10% sativa). Velvet Krush is a high yielder under optimal conditions, the flowers are dense and dark with good commercial bud structure, purples, blues, reds, yellows and greens rainbow through the finished flower. Her on-the-vine flavors range from kush-floral-candy to a grape-leather-musk to tangy-citrus-bubblegum and cologne add to this complex array of smells. Her cured aromas range from tropical-melon-musk-berry to tangy-kid’s-vitamins to spicy-incense-floral-candy, all deep and enticing in that Pre-98 way. Very pungent and rich in terpenes, high in mercine, lemonine, and b-caryophyline coupled with over a dozen other significant terps, Velvet Krush tests high and broad in overall terpene and cannabinoid yield. The high from the Velvet Krush is amazing! Potent and more body-sedate yet comfortable, happy and relaxing, not heavy, v
