Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). One of our growers has been working with an incredible female called Phantom. It is a crossing of Cherry Pie and Grand Daddy Purple. It produces some of the most beautiful purples you will ever see on cannabis, with an over-abundance of resin. In an attempt to increase the yield and ease of growth without effecting the resin level or potency he crossed it with the White.
