Type I
THC-dominant
Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the lab-verifiable signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). Cannabinoid type is set largely by a single gene (the THC:CBD ratio); about 96% of commercial flower is Type I, THC-dominant. Terpene profiles are sourced from Certificates of Analysis (COA) and roll out as Areto’s lab-verified data comes online.
Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About White Widow XL
White Widow XL: The time-honored and powerful classic White Widow is the biggest commercial success in the cannabis world since 1994. This undefeated champion is still being used for many hybrids of today. The genetic history of White Widow is in many ways controversial, but it felt logical for Zambeza’s Dutch breeders to release a version of White Widow that is ready to outperform many others. A sharp focus on customer satisfaction, a lot of breeding experience, and strong roots in the Netherlands, put Zambeza Seeds in the position to breed a cannabis strain that is very close to perfection. White Widow XL will not fail to perform! Reliability is understandingly something of importance for many growers. Wasting large amounts of energy and fertilizers to grow strains that could potentially perform better, can easily be avoided by making smart decision when buying seeds. Growing White Widow XL is definitely a smart decision for both expert cultivators and novice growers alike. There are not many hybrids that display this radical and aggressive attitude towards bud production that is necessary for indoor yields of up to 550-600g/m², in just 60 days of flowering.
