Chemotype — the cannabinoid and terpene profile — is the lab-verifiable signal that stays true to a cultivar’s genetics, which is why scientists classify cannabis by chemical profile (a “chemovar”) rather than by name (Hazekamp & Fischedick 2012). Cannabinoid type is set largely by a single gene (the THC:CBD ratio); about 96% of commercial flower is Type I, THC-dominant. Terpene profiles are sourced from Certificates of Analysis (COA) and roll out as Areto’s lab-verified data comes online.

Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide

Indica 70%Sativa 30%

Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Xupete

Xupete, named in homage to one of Barcelona's most famous graffiti artists, Xupet Negre, is a hybrid of two notable selections: Kush Mints (Rabid Hippie Cut) and GMO marijuana. The result of this cross is a hybrid composed of 60% Sativa and 40% Indica genetics, with a compact structure and producing generous yields. R-Kiem Seeds indicates that the Xupete variety can be sensitive to various stresses that can arise in cannabis cultivation (heat, excess fertilizer, unsuitable environment, etc.), making it a variety more suitable for experienced growers than beginners. The Xupete variety matures after 75 to 80 days of flowering when grown indoors, and in October outdoors, yielding up to 500 to 600g/m² under ideal conditions. Harvesting Xupete Cannabis The flavor and aroma of the Xupete variety are dominated by fuel notes, enriched with sweet and creamy hints of biscuit, for an unforgettable, gourmet aroma. With above-average trichome production and an intense and complex terpene profile, Xupete is a strain perfectly suited for all types of resin extractions. Due to its high cannabinoid content, comprising 31% THC, Xupete produces an intense and long-lasting effect, promoting a positive
