Indica / Sativa — retail shopping guide
Indica 50%Sativa 50%
Indica, sativa and hybrid are a retail shopping convention — not a reliable guide to genetics or effects. When researchers analysed 89,923 commercial samples across six states, these labels did not predict a plant’s terpene or cannabinoid profile, and a genome-wide study found sativa- and indica-labelled plants to be genetically indistinct (PLOS ONE 2022; Nature Plants 2021). The labels are so fluid that AK-47, a hybrid, won “Best Sativa” at the 1999 Cannabis Cup and “Best Indica” four years later. For an accurate, genetics-true picture, see the chemotype above.

About Yellow Lights BX
Banana MAC and Northern Lights IBL combined, then back-crossed to the Northern Lights for more consistency. The Banana MAC had a really crappy phenotype that appeared too often; a naturally branchy plant, with minimal buds other than a small golfball on the top of the branch. I have been working with the Banana MAC for years now to work this out, and the introduction of the NL IBL twice seems to have taken care of that! Meanwhile retaining the exotic looking leaves, and colours, of the Banana MAC
